JENSEN BEACH | For 50 years, St. Martin de Porres Parish has been a “a living example of God’s work on earth by imitating our patron saint, St. Martin de Porres, with works of charity, prayer, compassion, care for the sick and help of the poor,” said Father J. Scott Adams, pastor of the Jensen Beach church, in a letter addressed to his parishioners printed in the 50th anniversary liturgy booklet. “The Eucharist continues to play a central role in our identity as church, as parish and as individuals.”
The parish hosted a festive golden anniversary celebration Nov. 4, 2023, during which Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito presided at Mass, assisted by concelebrating priests, including Father Adams, Father Brian King, episcopal secretary, Father James Molgano, Father John O’Farrell, Msgr. Michael Carruthers, Father Martin Dunne and Deacon James Manzi.
