Execution Prayer Vigil for James Ford

Florida Governor, Ron Desantis has signed a death warrant for James Ford. He was sentenced to death for the 1997 murders of Greg and Kimberly Malnory in Charlotte County, Fl. He has been on Florida’s death row ever since. He was sentenced to death on the recommendation of a jury vote of 11-1. This lack of unanimity was enough for other death sentences to be retroactively commuted. Ford’s appeal was denied as his sentence was finalized before the Supreme Court cutoff date. The FCCB will be writing a letter to the governor’s office and sending out a press release.
The execution prayer vigil is scheduled for Palm Beach on Thursday February 13rd at 6pm ET. Catholic Charities’ Respect Life Ministry has organized a prayer service at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola Chapel in Palm Beach Gardens on February 13rd at 5:30 p.m. Immediately following the prayer service, the group will proceed to the corner of Military Trail and Holly Road, where they will silently pray for 15 minutes for Ford, the victims, and their families.
