Respect Life Ministry Prayer Service
Florida Governor, Ron Desantis has signed a death warrant for Michael Tanzi. He was sentenced to death for the 2000 murder of Janet Acosta.He has been on Florida’s death row ever since. Tanzi, 26 at the time, was himself the victim of years-long sexual abuse as a child and of physical abuse by his father. According to psychiatric and psychological evaluators, he had several disorders including bipolar disorder and PTSD. He was on drugs and a drifter at the time he committed the kidnapping and murder, in order to get money for drugs.
The execution prayer vigil is scheduled for Palm Beach onTuesday April 8th 6pm ET. Catholic Charities’ Respect Life Ministry has organized a prayer service at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola Chapel in Palm Beach Gardens on April 8th at 5:30 p.m. Immediately following the prayer service, the group will proceed to the corner of Military Trail and Holly Road, where they will silently pray for 15 minutes for Tanzi, the victim, and both of their families.
