Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:
It is my pleasure to announce the launch of the 2024-2025 Lumen Christi Schools Appeal to support the Diocese of Palm Beach’s Catholic elementary and secondary schools. Our Diocese includes 18 Catholic schools within our five counties that consist of three preschools, 12 elementary schools and three high schools. These schools educate more than 7,200 students, thanks to the hard work of 600 school employees.
This year’s Lumen Christi Schools Appeal theme is “Live the Light of Christ.” This theme reminds us of the English translation from the Latin words Lumen Christi, as Light of Christ, and our duty to live that message through our actions. Just as the mission of our Catholic schools is to build learning communities based on the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and rich in Catholic values and tradition, we also are to Live the Light of Christ.
One hundred percent of the net proceeds from the appeal will be allocated to support our Catholic schools as they work tirelessly to provide a Christ-centered education. Also, donors will be given the opportunity to be recognized for their assistance through our communication outlets as a sign of our appreciation.
I invite you to join us in supporting this effort as we continue our commitment to foster Catholic education through the Lumen Christi Schools Appeal. When reviewing the enclosed giving opportunities, I ask that you prayerfully consider a gift that would support our schools. Please continue to keep our students, teachers and staff in your prayers as you are drawn to the light of Christ.
With deep appreciation for your support, and with every prayerful wish, I am
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito
Bishop of Palm Beach
