NORTH PALM BEACH | The Knights and Dames of the Southeast Florida area of the Order of Malta sponsored its annual Mass of anointing Feb. 11, 2025, the World Day of the Sick and feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, at St. Paul of the Cross Church in North Palm Beach. Father Tom Lafreniere, pastor of St. Paul of the Cross, was the main celebrant and homilist, assisted by Father Dan Devore and area chaplains Father Dave Caron and Father Brian King.
A reception followed at a member’s home. Money raised from the event were donated to the Holy Family Hospital of Bethlehem. Each May, Knights, Dames, affiliates and volunteers from the Order of Malta travel to Lourdes, France, as pilgrims, bringing with them sick and disabled people from around the world. The American Association also hosts pilgrimages to Washington, D.C., for the March for Life and to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion in Wisconsin, which is the only Marian apparition in the United States approved by the church.
