PT Secretary 1 (20 Hours a Week) - St. Christopher Catholic Church
St. Christopher Catholic Church located in Hobe Sound, FL is searching for a Part Time Secretary (Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, 20 hours a week).

Parish Secretary 1 Duties
- General Office duties may include
- Reviewing/Distributing Parish Email and Mail, Answering Telephone calls working with Front Desk volunteer
- Filing and Maintenance of Files / Archives
- Ordering Supplies for the Parish
- Parish Bulletin Editor
- Parish Website and Facebook Editor
- Parish Special Events
- Create Forms/Programs/Flyers and advertise Special Events as needed
- PDS:
- Office
- Update and Maintain Parishioner’s Records
- Provide updates to OSV and DSA
- Back-up End of Year and Create New
- Formation
- Provide Assistance to Religious Education Volunteers
- Back-up End of Year and Create New
- Office
Qualifications Include:
- Ability to work collaboratively with all parish staff members and volunteers.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality of church, sacramental records and conversations.
- Ability to always exhibit professionalism in appearance, work ethic, accountability and responsibility.
- Ability to be willing to work at an appropriate pace within a variety of circumstances with composure and flexibility.
- Organization and maintenance of the office area.
- Provide information to the Priests and office staff about sacramental documents.
- Strong computer skills.
- Proficiency in the use of office equipment. (copier, VOIP phone system, computers, etc.)
- Understanding and knowledge of the ministry of the church.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Access, Adobe Acrobat, ACST Parish Data Systems and formation, OSV Database, Virtus.org Administrator, Mass Intention Online Calendar Program and Internet.
- Ability to work effectively with Parish staff, diocesan employees, volunteers, department heads, and the public.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, make responsible judgment calls, pay attention to details.
- Excellent and professional telephone manner and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay focused and organized.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Adhere to the Diocese of Palm Beach Code of Conduct with emphasis on confidentiality and the ability to exercise discretion and good judgment.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds
- Occasional moderate carrying and lifting of 15 – 44 pounds
- Frequent use of both hands and fingers (i.e. typing)
- Frequent extended periods of sitting
- Occasional periods of standing, kneeling and climbing
- Occasional ability of minimal hearing (i.e. loud noises, sirens) and routine hearing (i.e. listening to others in conversation)
- Occasional time spent working closely with others
- Employee will be exposed to visual terminal display for long periods of time.
