Operations Manager - St. Patrick Catholic Church
St. Patrick Catholic Church located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL is searching for a full time Operations Manager.

Essential Communication Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assessing all preventative maintenance needed for 5 parish buildings (Church/hall, admin/classrooms/chapel, maintenance workshop, two houses (rectory) and Parish grounds.
- Apply critical thinking and projection to ascertain how to best solve maintenance challenges/opportunities while ensuring compliance with Diocese guidelines following with consultation with Business Manager and Pastor to insure proper fiscal responsibility.
- Ensure all maintenance is completed in the most efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective manner possible.
- Assessing how to utilize existing crew to maximize productivity/efficiency
- Make repairs/preventative maintenance on items when skill set allows.
- Supervises any construction, improvement or repair
- Verifies and supervises contractor/vendor activity
- Solicits and reviews bids and quotes for services, equipment and supplies; prepares vendor list and obtains and maintains required certificate of insurance for each one
- Maintains buildings and equipment to provide effective operations
- Maintain grounds including supervising Landscaping vendor
- Create a maintenance binder on all property/equipment of physical plant to insure routine (monthly/quarterly/annual) inspection/maintenance of all relevant elements of physical plant.
- Maintains open file of emergency systems, i.e. plumbing, electrical, fire, sewage, underground tanks, etc.
- Manages and monitors energy usage in all buildings
- Maintains accuracy of all invoice files and records and establishes a responsible monitoring system
- Prepares, reviews and monitors maintenance budget in conjunction with Business Manager.
- Establishes and monitors preventative maintenance programs for all property.
- Accompany all inspectors/workers during their tours.
- Coordinate with Business Manager to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner with minor disruption to all the church activities.
- Routinely inspect/clean all AC’s and change/clean filters, overflow trays, etc.
- Coordinates scheduled monthly, semiannual, or annual maintenance duties i.e. floor waxing, window washing, carpet cleaning, etc. in accordance with the parish maintenance schedule including touch-up painting
- Inspect/Catalogue all maintenance supplies, tools and verify the condition of supplies, especially chemicals. Make sure all chemicals are housed and labeled properly.
- Supervise maintenance and custodial staff to ensure completion of their responsibilities.
- Trains & reviews employee performance
- Establishes daily work assignments
- Reviews and approves time sheets
- Maintains clean and safe environment in work area
- Trains, monitors, supervises and ensures compliance of staff in all safety procedures and ensures compliance of worker protection program
- Supervises and directs set up facilities for events including meeting with persons requesting use of our facilities
- Schedule and coordinate setup and staff coverage for event cleanup
- Coordinate with caterers, DJ’s, decorators
- Collect funds and arrange Diocesan insurance
- Scheduling and planning of events with Business Manager and Pastor, including planning of food, decoration, entertainment setup and cleanup
- Supervises cleaning of the Parish Center, Church, etc. Occasionally back-up cleaning the premises. Assist with set-up/clean-up of buildings for parish events, including Christmas/Easter.
- Calls in materials and supplies orders and either picks up (maintenance, cleaning/laundry for the parish and the rectory).
- Getting all the buildings and rectories secured and prepared for the Hurricanes including supplies needed for priests at their rectories. (food, water, butane, generator, etc.).
- Scheduling and monitoring outside Security and Traffic officers. Be on-call to open Church buildings at 6:30 am-Mon.-Sun. and close parish when needed.
- Be on-call for emergencies 24/7 (or designate appropriate individual).
- Ensure all buildings are secure after parish closes for the day.
- Be the contact with the alarm company to respond to alarms (false alarms or otherwise)
- Be present for Finance Council meetings to give report on physical plant and maintenance needs.
- Attend seminars/webinars as requested by the Office Manager or the Diocese of Palm Beach for compliance.
- Be a team player who can accept supervision, interact positively with all church personnel, volunteers and parishioners.
Qualifications:
- Successful work experience in minor repair work in electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting
- On-call availability for emergencies
- Ability to provide own transportation for job-related responsibilities
- Excellent and professional telephone manner, interpersonal skills confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively with employees, department heads, representatives of other agencies and the general public.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and make responsible judgement calls.
- Ability to respect confidentiality and consistently exercise discretion and good business judgement
