Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time Music Teacher with knowledge of the Catholic Mass to join our catholic school community. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of music in students from PreK through 5th grade, nurture their musical talents, and contribute to our vibrant school culture. This role includes leading our school choirs, directing performances, and participating in additional teacher duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Duties:

• Teach engaging and developmentally appropriate music classes to students in PreK - 8th grade.
• Foster students’ understanding and appreciation of music, covering various genres, instruments, and musical concepts.
• Implement lessons that incorporate hands-on learning, singing, and movement to support diverse learning styles.
• Integrate Catholic values and teachings into daily lessons and activities, promoting spiritual growth and character development.

Choirs and Performances:

• Direct the school choirs, selecting repertoire, organizing practices, and guiding students in vocal development.
• Plan and direct school-wide performances, including concerts, seasonal programs, and other school events.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure successful and meaningful performances.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
• Take on general teacher duties as needed, including supervision duties, school events, and other community-building activities.
• Serve as a positive role model in alignment with the values of St. Clare Catholic School.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
• State teaching certification (or the ability to obtain one) is preferred.
• Experience teaching music to children.
• Experience with Catholic Mass.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Enthusiasm for working with young students and the ability to create a welcoming, supportive environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds
• Occasional moderate carrying and lifting of 15 – 44 pounds
• Frequent use both hands and fingers (i.e. typing)
• Frequent extended periods of sitting
• Occasional periods of standing, kneeling and climbing
• Occasional ability of minimal hearing (i.e. loud noises, sirens) and routine hearing (i.e. listening to others in conversation)
• Occasional time spent working closely with others
