St. Joseph Catholic Church and School in Stuart, Florida, has an opening for a full-time facilities assistant. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of St. Joseph Catholic Church and School and the Diocese of Palm Beach.

Functions and Responsibility:

•  Part of a team that maintains the school’s facilities and grounds
• Work with the facilities supervisor to maintain all aspects of the school buildings and grounds, including but not limited to:
  • Sprinklers
  • Floors
  • Painting
  • General handyman duties
  • Minor repairs to fixtures and fittings including desks, tables, chairs, etc.
  • Carry out minor repairs to school equipment as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and general tidiness of school buildings and grounds
  • Clean assigned classrooms and restroom facilities
• Attend all required and recommended training and follow safety protocols of the school
• Other cleaning and maintenance items to be determined by the maintenance supervisor and/or principal.

Qualifications:

• Ability to follow directions and supervision of facilities supervisor.
•  Ability to work positively with the school community and other facilities staff. 
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
