Cardinal Newman High School located in West Palm Beach, FL is searching for a full time Assistant Athletic Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Overview:
The Assistant Athletic Director will oversee and manage all aspects of after-school athletic events and practices. This role ensures the smooth operation of sports activities, from event setup to equipment management, and plays a vital part in maintaining high standards for our athletic programs.

Event Management:

• Set up fields for games.
• Set up admissions tables and manage ticket sales.
• Manage/assist referees and umpires.
• Assist coaches with game start preparations and ensure games start on time.
• Be the master of game rules and inform scoreboard operators.
• Manage crowd control.
• Lock up all athletic areas and the school as needed.

Inventory and Equipment Management:

• Organize and maintain inventory of uniforms and athletic equipment.
• Work with coaches to ensure all uniforms are properly distributed/returned and equipment needs are met.

Scoreboard Operations:

• Ensure all scoreboard graphics are uploaded and ready for each sport’s games.

Concessions Liaison:

• Assist each sport with concessions needs, including opening and locking up the concession stand and potentially receiving delivery orders.
• Handle and secure money from concessions in the safe area after games.

Field Maintenance Oversight:

• Ensure fields are painted according to sports requirements in collaboration with the landscape company.
• Regularly inspect fields with the Athletic Director to maintain high standards.

Support to Athletic Director:

• Assist the Athletic Director as needed with various tasks and projects.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of sports rules and regulations.
• Experience in event management and operations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Familiarity with athletic equipment and uniform management.
• Ability to handle cash and manage financial transactions securely.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and make responsible judgment calls.
• Ability to work effectively with Diocesan employees, departments heads, representatives of other agencies and the general public.
• Ability to respect confidentiality and consistently exercise discretion and good business judgment.
• Strong ethical values.

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds
• Occasional moderate carrying and lifting of 15 – 44 pounds
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Frequent bending, climbing, stretching and kneeling
• Frequent use of both hands and fingers
• Occasional moments of minimal and routine hearing
